Nakada was last seen in Oceanside, California on April 14, 1997.
Victor Min Nakada was abducted by his non-custodial mother, Ana Maria Velasquez. Around May of 1997, Velasquez allegedly left the State of California with the child in order to deprive the father of his visitation rights. A state warrant was issued for her arrest in December of 1997 by the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego, San Diego Judicial District, Central Division. On August 10, 2001, a federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Southern District of California, charging Velasquez with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
