Circumstances of Disappearance
Jacobson was last seen leaving a relative's home with her son John in Sandra's car in Bismarck, North Dakota on November 16, 1996.
Jacobson was supposed to get some gas, which she did. Bismarck Police have the gas receipt from a local convenience store. Then, Jacobson and her son was supposed to be return to her relatives home. They never returned. Sandy had been displaying some signs of mental illness and she had agreed to seek help after she returned from filling her car with gas. The following day, her gray 1990 Honda Civic was located abandoned at the Centennial Beach parking lot which is adjacent to the Missouri River in Bismarck, North Dakota. The driver's door was open, the keys were still in the ignition, and her purse was on the seat with all its contents intact.
