Mary Boyle
Missing since March 18, 1977 from Cashelard, County Donegal, Ireland.
Classification: Endangered Missing
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance
Boyle, a twin, was last seen near her grandmother's house near Ballyshannon, County Donegal on March 18, 1977.
She was last seen around 3:30 pm by her uncle on an isolated unpaved shortcut, about 450 yards long, between his house and his neighbors. Nobody had seen her on the road, even though it was only a couple of hundred yards away.
The family, the police and the army spent months searching a remote area of Co Donegal. Lakes and rivers around Ballyshannon, bogs were probed and vast stretches of forest were combed. Nothing was found to indicate what happened to Boyle.
