Circumstances of Disappearance
Visram returned home after finishing classes at South Carleton High School. According to family and reports from neighbors, he left the house with his backpack between 16.00 and 17.00. He was last seen sitting on the ground near the bank of Mud Creek. His nap sack was found in a nearby ravine.

He left behind his wallet, his bank card, passport, social insurance card and money in his bank account -- which has never been accessed.

Family members say Shafiq seemed to be healthy, physically and emotionally, until the day he vanished.
Visram moved to Canada from Kenya, two years before his disappearance.
