Case History
The man suffered 10 to 13 blows to the head either at the time of his death or after it, with most of blows consistent with blunt force. One blow was consistent with a bladed tool. Investigators don't know whether the injuries to the head were caused by devices or other items inside the garbage truck before calling the man's death a homicide.

The victim was discovered on March 27, 2006 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas
The head only of the victim was located in a garbage truck in Amarillo, Texas on March 27, 2006. The rest of the body has not yet been located. An employee spotted the man's head inside his truck when it was parked near Northeast 11th Avenue and Buchanan Street.
The truck had dropped off a full load and then added more than 40 dumpsters into its hopper before the discovery. Police spent the rest of the day sorting through the trash looking for more remains.
A toxicology report showed there was no presence of drugs in his system, but that he had consumed alcohol .19% to .25%.
